Nice Job mate spot on.
thanks..the spots are dust..I wet sanded the base but didn't wet sand the clear..I was getting impatient. lol
I had the original paint colour matched at napa using their camera. It was bang on but not cheap..$32 for a spray bomb..
I haven't got brave enough to try an actual hvlp spray gun yet.

You will be pleasantly surprised at the similarities. Always wanted to try spray guns, just bought a set and painted a panel on the 1500. Harder to get a paint run, and paint choices are much better. My research on the web indicated that technique was the same, and it's not far off. I bought the Devilbiss Startingline set. The Honda colour was Pearl Glacier White and needed to be applied as a base, mid (Pearl) and clear coat. Did a pretty good job on the panel I repaired. It was mentioned that the cost of using spray cans can add up such that an inexpensive spray gun and better paint selection may be the way to go, especially for a paint colour such as mine. Here is a before and after picture of the panel I repaired painted. One issue I noticed after I had it on the bike is that the painted panel is bright and new looking and the remainder of the plastics have faded (yellowed) clear coat - expected after 25 years. My C-19 project is to paint the rest. Cheers

3 coats of pastel blue and 3 coats of clear. They came up awesome a few bits of fluff here and there and one very small flying critter that will hopefully buff out
I cant wait to get these decals on and then put some more gloss over those.

My paint guy recommended using rubbing alcohol to degrease and such as it does not build up a static charge on the plastic panel(s). Panels are looking good. You painted the backsides as well - easier to clean than the original Honda finish.

All done... I can't wait to get them back on the bike
Had a huge mishap yesterday whilst putting the decal on the fake tank cover it fell of the wire holding it up and chipped the paint and got covered in dust.
All I could do was touch it up clean as best I can and continue on, with all carona virus stuff I'm not sure the paint shop will be open Monday to get more paint.
I'm done for now anyway it's going to really annoy but I can't be bothered just yet.
