Restoring Guages

#1

Post by JonathonCranny »

Got some new dials from cb750 guages what a wonderful company to deal with action1

Changed out the original light cluster to some leds, moved the choke to the where the horn mounts to the frame and made some new brackets for the guages.

Removed ignition and added a remote start.

Still need to tidy up all the cables.

Hey mate I would have preferred to leave them Chrome but it was in really bad shape. I used Motospray gloss black acrylic it's super easy to use and drys quick.

I've now put the indication/warning lights in the headlight for a cleaner dash.

Easy enough to do just drilled some holes tumb2

With my restoration on my 1100 I'm trying for something old but new as well. I'm looking at making my tacho electronic and speedo gps. I know there are conversion kits avail. I want to keep the authenticity of the Honda gauges but upgrade them to electronic.
Apparently this mob builds to custom... https://www.speedhut.com/
Anyone dealt with? I do like the look of their Quad gauges and combo units.
Not cheap but look like decent quality. Not Chinese made...

I looked at those also for my bagger. I like the all in one style but they are spendy. I'll be interested in what you decide.
