In a round about way, it seems it would. There's a relatively new thread where the owner installed 1500 forks and wheel in a 1200 triple tree, and a 1200 triple tree will install in an 1100 frame..m

To make the 1500 front forks fit you will need to change out the triple tree. The 1500 has 41 mm front forks, same size as the 1200.

I take it them the 1500 triple tree won't fit the 1100.
The advantage of the 1500 fork is that is bigger and less flex plus better brakes I would assume. I would want to keep my stock front wheel.

The 1200 triple will slide right in at least and they’re the same diameter as the 1500 forks, so piecing a 1200 tree with 1500 forks is pretty easy. As for keeping the stock wheel from your bike, that might take some extra homework. Other members have fitted the stock wheel with GXSR/Busa forks, shouldn’t be impossible with a 1500 setup.

Mainly need to see if the rotors are the same size/spacing, then compare axle dimensions and wheel/tire size differences. I’d say it’s theoretically possible.

As I mentioned in another thread I too am working on a basket case GL1500 and have give a lot of thought to turning it into a reverse trike (probably adapting the front axle from an old VW bug) My wife rides a Spyder and I really like the reverse design. I am thinking more "rat" than sleek sports car.

nope, too much information is never, ever a bad thing.

I've heard some folks call 'em that too.

Found my coolant leak. Whoo-hoo!
Haven't been able to dedicate much time to it recently but took a 1/2 hour before my last work trip to Cali & found the P.O. had used 3/8" hose instead of the OEM 9mm and too large hose spring-clamps that wouldn't cinch down tightly.
Now to find time to swing by an auto parts house...

I'm watching this one.
Goldwings don't accelerate, they gain inertia.

1978 GL1000 - almost stock - needs a head replaced, parts are ready to install!
1979 GL1000 - Winter project/parts bike - custom "Busted"
1983 GL1100 Standard- raised from the dead and back to organ donor status
And the newest acquisition, 1979 XS 650F to be a sidecar tug. crossy.gif
