Rear shock advice

#1

Post by Edwing1972 »

Hi All,

I'm cafe'ing an 83 Aspencade.

I've removed the bags, fairings, crash bars, OE exhaust, seat etc. I remove a couple hundred pounds of weight from it, including the entire air suspension system, and capped the air line holes in all the shocks. I've found that the ride is extremely hard, and I wonder if its because the OE shocks were designed for the weight of the bike in factory configuration?

I intend to convert to aftermarket non air, coil over type shocks.

Can anyone recommend a set that will improve the harsh ride now that the bike is much lighter?

I run Progressive's 412's, and have on a bunch of wings.
There is three different springs available as well, although I run the heavier one.
