1982 Interstate Drag Queen
I have read multiple people suggest that a Shadow Aero 750 rear fender will fit on the GL1100. So, I grabbed a 2006 Shadow Aero rear fender from ebay and it's pretty wide. Like 9 inches wide. I know, I know, I should have measured the frame and looked up fender width first but come on, isn't that why we have hack saws and torches? The plan is to install the retro fender behind a solo Valkyrie saddle. Does the fender need to be split or do any of you mad scientists know any secrets on how to better install that fat fender on that narrow frame?

Slot the fender so that the rear frame rails go inside. Instant hidden fender supports... Just a thought...

Her new saddle, Progressive shock springs, SS braided brake lines, headlight bucket and just out of frame on the left in the two boxes are her new timing belts.

Track, I'm pretty sure we are on the same page. Remove the cross-member on the tailpiece, two cuts and thread that juicy fender right on the existing frame.

I do have the OE Aero subframe in the fender now. I would like to utilize it if possible

Track, #I'mwithyou. I tend to get ahead of myself. I have a bit of some "general maintenance" in front of the fender but I'm confident I can make it work. The grab bars for the fender showed up today.

I was rebuilding the rear brake caliper and who would have guessed under all that corrosion, scored pistons.

New pistons, all shiny and perty, new seals new boots. Getting those top slider boots seated properly almost taught the caliper a lesson in short distance flight!

Re: 1982 Interstate Drag Queen
Rear brake caliper rebuilt, SS braided brake line installed, Rear brake bled. Rear shocks rebuilt with Precision shock springs, new seals and perty new bootys from Precision. I pumped the shocks to 50psi and figure my fancy no loss high pressure shock pump dumped 5 to 10 PSI when i detached. I'll figure out all that suspension wizwaz down the road when I start draggin knee with this juicy fat4.
