Loving where this is headed! Didn't think I'd like the olive green with white color scheme, but after seeing it, I think it really pops quite well!

OK. Let's get this out of the way. I screwed up confused22.
I couldn't even follow my OWN directions :IDTS:.
The engine has sat built in the shop for over a year...
with the WRONG clutch cover.

the pull shock install requires the earlier style clutch actuating set-up ('82 or earlier)
I kept scratching my head trying to figure out why I was having issues with the clutch and shock.

So glad to see your hands back at it.
Whatever I suggest here should be given ample time for a moderator to delicately correct. I apologize in advance.

Thanks guys, slow but sure. ;)
Here is some rear end treatment.....
the final looked like this on the inside. Just blow by but whatta mess. It just annoys me to
leave it. I clean it this way.. I use gasoline. !!! I find a little regular in a condiment bottle and
some light brushing does the trick. It's probably best to go easy around that vent hole at the top.

Just what Mother Honda would have done if cost was not an obstacle. Nice to see her moving again, all the complicated stuff seems to be behind you now.

Can't wait to see it in person!
Goldwings don't accelerate, they gain inertia.

1978 GL1000 - almost stock - needs a head replaced, parts are ready to install!
1979 GL1000 - Winter project/parts bike - custom "Busted"
1983 GL1100 Standard- raised from the dead and back to organ donor status
And the newest acquisition, 1979 XS 650F to be a sidecar tug. crossy.gif

yep. the best the Pawn shop has to offer..

** OK! you will want to pay close attention to this next part. Not because you will ever want to do it, but more so to see the effects of my sad addiction to Naked Wings..

Earlier in this build I toyed with the idea of a drum front brake. Now that Lucky's looking more like a motorcycle it's time to make a call. Although I like the look of a nice drum I find it a bit incongruous with the rear disc. Of course real men wouldn't use a front brake (yeah and they wouldn't use the word incongruous...). I'm using an old style Vulcan single piston caliper and adapting a floating mount for the springer.
