Nailed it Ric! Great to see such a fabulous build among the "other mish-mash stuff". If only the judges understood the real meaning of custom. I'll be blunt, all the other bikes except maybe the overall winner were just so-so. And some were plain crap...

Having been in the Ultimate Builders show before, I can tell you it's very difficult to get the builders to see the goldwing as a valid platform for customizing. Most of the public are like sheep, drawn to loud stereos in slammed baggers with gaudy paint jobs. Projects like Ric's force them to re evaluate their viewpoints. Looking at the pictures of the bikes in the show, they picked the wrong bike for overall winner. J&P sponsor the show and want people to buy accessories (bolt on crap) that fit mostly Harleys and a few select Harley wanna be Japanese bikes. So it follows that the winners are closer to J&P shelf bikes, than to Ric's totally custom bobber.

I have to confess that I simply do not like this look.
I don't care what color you paint it, they just do not look right.
They look like they should be red and white and be accompanied by a little red wagon.

true. Paul and Warren and I saw it when we were coming into Rapid City after last years ride to Washington state. Dudes rolling their bikes out of a trailer and gassing them up to ride 5 miles into Sturgis. We covered the same ground, our bikes were filthy and theirs was clean as a whistle. I think we had more fun.

I have thought about trailering as I will be coming from SW VA, but Redwood wants to drive three wheels, so we will trailer my bike to OK, ride bikes to Sturgis and back and then drive the sidecar rig and trailer two bikes to VA

We are still trying to figure all the details on getting the whole herd of bikes to VA (and the Morgan)
