Re: Lucky #13 by HOTT
I'm glad you asked....
Since the procurement of the big ol' Victory tank I wanted to incorporate an early style inverted lever set-up. It would allow for better turning and cleaner handlebar look and have that '40's vibe.
So to make a cable lever operate a hydro caliper I did this...
Using a cheap (and I mean cheap) lever and MC I got from China I commenced dismantlement. with the master cylinder isolated I fabbed a cable stop and lock. I made a test model to show the function look close that is it with the brake light switch (red&black wires) under the tank. So how does it work? Like a disc brake with just a touch of that Old Timey cable sketchiness.

bike is looking wonderful. Don't think it will be finished in '13 though! But it is surely worth the wait. Sorry I missed you and the crew at Luckenbach.

Having seen this bike up close, I think I could spend a couple days just absorbing all the original ideas incorporated in it. Wonderful, creative build.

Rear Brake? yeah probably should
..well that can't be good... ..drill out the old..tap in the new.. Ta Daaah.. I went with this kit. There are simpler oversized bleeders, but this had that brass thing going. the anchor is an 1100 unit laid down like a 1000 Still need the right tail light............

Must be getting close? Had the motor running yet? Okay, okay! I'll be a good grasshopper.
Whatever I suggest here should be given ample time for a moderator to delicately correct. I apologize in advance.

the correct answer is --My beer fridge!! How it got there I'll never knowWhere did the horn end up ? We were supposed to solve that when we was all there .... but we drank beer instead ....
Actually we decided to put it here..... I started with this broken Vox Bell horn cleaned up the electro magnet... did you know your horn has points? Clean them and it will work again! Cleaned that classic VB grill and refinished. Added a support bar under the rad grill.
(FunFact; compare the rad grill mount plate (1st photo) with one on your wing)

And then there's the gas cap.....
details, details, details. Remember that Victory gas cap? Got to change that.
Upon inspection there is just enough solid aluminum to make an adjustment.
Fire up the lathe and go easy. trim down and try to make it look interesting. that'll work HOTT

Mighty fine. Your work amazes!
Goldwings don't accelerate, they gain inertia.
