Quite a nice unit. The transformation is high caliber industrial quality with a touch from beyond, perhaps the lithosphere or maybe the future.
Congratulations on an excellent completion.

Thanks! Welcome to NGW or as I like to say 'Wingsville.ahcolburn wrote:Love it, congrats on BOTM! What throttle assembly are you running here? I'm looking for a stripped down version just like this right now..
The throttle set-up is an economy 1" deal from Lowbrow. I made the cable from
bicycle shifter cable & housing, cut to length. I used a nifty cable noodle/guide for the bend. The housing is not tight in this photo, but the seam closes up and looks good. Works great.

It was a fun, frustrating, head scratching, time consuming, educational and rewarding project.
Easter...I think maybe I'm going to tackle the very rare CL 1100 Scrambler

sounds like fun, WOG has his "off road" one in the works, we saw it a couple of years ago, looked great.

A different looking Goldwing for sure!
Obviously a lot of work has went into it.
But I gotta know......
Does it run?
Have you ever ridden it?
Any video?

Re: Lucky #13 by HOTT
First; thanks and thanks.
Yes it does run. Fires right up and idles perfectly. It's loud, slightly harsher than 'Sparky. Does not leak oil or water. Up until now I keep only enough gas in it to prove it runs and moves of its own power. It's a show venue thing. Lights, Horn, brake lights, fan, charging systems all work as normal.
Yes I have ridden it. Quite snappy. Quite fast. I love the springer.
I plan on keeping it pristine a little longer. I like to show it of to my customers. I have 'Sparky for getting my bobber fix on. (and I need fixing often )
I guess I'll get working on some video.
thanks

I understand. Keeping it as a "show" bike is cool if that's what you're into.
I am really interested in seeing the riders position on your bike with those drag bars and the stock peg location.
In my experience, the footpeg/control placement is a limiting factor when customizing Goldwings.
the stock mids are good for the "sit up and beg" position (my favorite)
forward controls work for the cool guy "cruiser slouch" position (tough to do with a boxer engine)
and
rear sets for the "racer" rider. (low bars or clipons are mandatory)
I am a function over form type of guy with useability being my primary goal ,
but I can always appreciate a well built custom.
Give me Mufflers, comfortable seats, mirrors, lights, etc.......

Yeah , I'll probably keep Lucky #13 'living room ready' for awhile longer.dontwantapickle wrote:...I understand. Keeping it as a "show" bike is cool if that's what you're into.

Until I get some video (and figure out how to post it) look at these.]
Same riding position as Lucky (2'' riser bars instead of 2'' risers). This is my favorite riding bike. This style suits me. Not unusual for me to do a 100-200mi. day. https://vimeo.com/53060624
