I used thin stainless wire in the end. I like it, I think that's how it used to be done anyway....

Looks good and pro.

Easter wrote:No personal experience with pipe wrap but I have seen copper wire used and just twisted tight. It looked good and the twisted part can be concealed behind the pipes.

I had to replace the original clamps, they came loose. I used 12 gauge copper wire, it worked great! Much better than the clamps that came with the wrap.

It's been a long time since I posted anything about my bike. I took it on my trip to Ohio and had a blast. Going with a buddy would have been great, but going solo allowed me to make up the schedule as I went.

Now that hunting season is over I have lots of time to get back to work on my bike. My wife works for Dept. of Defense, so she is off to England for the next 6 months. That leaves me TONS of shop time.

This photo was taken in Wood county Ohio in front of the old farm house where I was born and raised. The house was built in 1862.

I've been wanting a motorcycle lift but either couldn't justify the price or simply didn't have the money.
This past weekend Harbor Freight put theirs on sale for $279, I was lucky enough to have the money while it was on sale so I grabbed one. Just about popped a hernia getting it into my shop, but it's in there and works great.
Yesterday I removed the starter to get it rebuilt and what a joy to sit on a stool and have that starter at eye level! No more laying on cold concrete!!

Is that lift a lil top heavy?
If there is one thing I have learned throughout this process it is this: Check your respirator for spiders before you put it on.

The HF always worried me. Mine I can climb up on it with the bike up in the air if I need to. Not sure I would on that one. But some guys on here like theirs.

Not in my opinion it isn't. I pushed it around, swiveled it 180 degrees while the bike was on it at full lift. I never felt that it was unsteady.

I wish I could compare it to another brand/type of lift, but I have no experience with anything else.

You should know that anything Patriccio says should be taken with a pinch of salt, or more like a bag of it.

He was kidding you about your Wing atop the lift, certainly not about the lift its self.

But then again, jealousy could have made him a little nasty. I'm feeling a little nasty too, I also wish for such a wondrous piece of equipment in my garage

It looks like a lot more lateral bracing between the legs than the early models. There was a post a couple years back with people who having them collapse in certain situations. Hopefully they've improved it.
Whatever I suggest here should be given ample time for a moderator to delicately correct. I apologize in advance.

I think that was from the locking bar bending.

Ah, well if that's the case, not a problem.

I can take a joke......when it's at least humorous.
