It's been so long I doubt anyone remembers this project. Home repairs, another bike project, you've heard it all before. I'm back on it now. I've been gifted a used electric oven, and I plan to pick up a powder coating kit from HF. I can get set up for what it'll cost the local coater to JUST do my handlebars,$65. Fork lowers $30 each...you see why I'm doing my own.

I apologize. Early retirement was a bad idea. I'm back on track now. upholsterer quoted $225 to cover my work in vinyl, does that sound reasonable?

I think very reasonable if he is well thought of. When I covered my 83 Gl100 seat it cost me $150.00 US for a good grade cover and then I had to do all the work myself. Yours is a custom job so I am thinking the price quote is in line.

He has it,told him no hurry. He liked what I had done, which was a relief. I hope the finished seat will complement the bikes lines. The seat base was fiberglassed right on the frame for a close fit, which explains the " scalloped" sides.

the proper way to do a seat on a goldwing. Not just strapping a Triumph Triple seat on.

You’re a lucky man.
