You may want to move that up. As close as it is sitting it will rub once you get moving. And if the tire picks up a stone you'll know it pretty quickly.

The seat is the original pan with regards shaped foam. It's comfortable enough for me. I don't go far on the bike.
If you want some information about unlinking the brakes, I plan on making a write up of what I recently did to my 83 GL1100. It was mainly a lot of research on my part since I wanted matching front calipers and a front master cylinder to support them.
That's pretty much the route I went, except I picked up just one 32mm caliper for $25 with shipping.
For the master cylinder, I used a 5/8" unit similar to the one Randaaks sells. I tried the 14mm stock unit and it wasn't engaging until nearly hitting the handlebar. Temporarily swapped on the 5/8 master cylinder from my CB750F SuperSport and got the amount of bite I wanted. Could probably go a little bigger if you like, but 5/8 is in my Goldilocks zone.
Might end up having a change of heart after I rebuild the calipers and replace the lines this winter, though.
A while ago I bought a flat 14mm bore master cylinder so when I de-linked the brakes and fitted flatter bars than standard the m/c wouldnt sit at a jaunty angle.
Well, I can tell you for sure if you have an 83 GL1100 that has linked brakes with 32mm pistons on one side and 25mm on the other then a 14mm m/c will not work if you are delinking the brakes
No amount of bleeding will get enough pressure without excessive travel, my lever just kept hitting the bar! So I popped down to the local breakers yard and got a 1200 bandit one with a 5/8s bore. Perfect!!
So look for one of these or another big bike with twin disc, look on the underside of the m/c and it should say 5/8 or it might say 16mm, either should do as they are almost identical.
Does anyone know if the CX500 rad surround or rad is the same size as a GL1100?
I want the side scoops from a GL1100 but they seem rare and expensive here in the UK. On the other hand CX500 parts are littering the streets due to the fact we dispatched them to death.
