Tell me about it Chewy, took almost half a day to get one circlip on, but only 4 scraped knuckles, so I think I came out ahead.

I have also acquired a GSXR-750 triple clamp top and bottom and the appropriate bearings. (my original front end was knackered and subsequently disposed of).

I found the suggestion in one f the forums here. Can anyone think of any MAJOR reason why this would be a bad idea?

It should be noted that budget is of concern and the condition of the parts when I got this bike meant that a frankenstein was inevitable.

OK guys, keeping you all in the loop.

I am proud to report the engine did turn over and self fired but its a relief to hear all pistons fire.

I have gotten the rear suspension and fuel tank revamped and installed.

Additionally have test mounted the GSXR1300 triple clamps and forks.

Hitting the excitement of seeing a light at the end of the tunnel...

Have sent the Randaak Weber manifolds and wheels for powder coating and am prepping to work on the rear brakes next.

Photos for your enjoyment:

You may have seen a recent post on manifolds not being quite right fitting. If you didn't test fit them before sending them to powder coating, it would maybe be wise to see if you still can. It looks like they may need a tweak between the cheek and gums and after powder coating. They may flake off...???
Whatever I suggest here should be given ample time for a moderator to delicately correct. I apologize in advance.

When you installed the circlip was your swing arm connected to the shocks? It is much easier to do if it is at the lowest point of its potential which only occurs before the shocks are attached. Installing it before the fuel tank also give you more room to work. I had installed and removed them several times before I realized this.

Thanks mate, the manifolds had fit on a pre painting test fitment. So here's hoping.

Thanks Easter, slow and steady.

With regard the circlip, I did in fact do it before mounting the springs. Which is scary to think that as hard as it was to get on, that was the easiest way...

No major updates as yet, the front wheel has been sent to fabricators to get the Hayabusa front end to fit the comstars.

I have put the webers on hold temporarily as they require a ton load of work to make the fitments, I just want to get it on the road for now so have installed the original carbs.

I have started painting and fitting the covers etc.

Have decided to go with a GPS speedometer to relieve the need for a speedo cable custom mount with the changed front end.

Lots of little bits for the time being.

Love the color details. Can you tell us what you had to do to get that front end on there?
