I just installed a set of Progressive fork springs in my 82. It called for 20wt fork oil, and I only had 10wt in the garage, so that is what got used. It made a dramatic difference in the front end of my rig, even with the wrong weight oil.wog wrote:Took it out for a couple quick short runs and hard stops today.
I'm guessing with being much higher, the forks seemed very weak compared to the other GL1000's.
I've never used Progressive fork springs before.
I'm thinking they're worth a shot.
I ordered a jug of 20wt oil, and had every intention of changing it out, but I used some of it on my FT500 forks when I gave it new seals, and don't think I have enough left.... None of the shops in the area carry 20wt, so I will have to order....again.
Not a real cheap upgrade, at around 100 bucks. But it sure makes a difference.
