Couldn’t come up with a cheap right control I could dissemble and rob the missing kill switch parts from. Came up with a fix that should hold up - Drilled a very small hole through the base of the kill switch shaft in the groove where the circlip would go. I found a little ball chain in a junk drawer that was just the right size to replace the missing ball bearing and then I used a carb linkage cotter pin on the bottom to hold it all together.

Nice hack! If that necklace ball turns out to wear too easily(aren't they hollow? maybe not?) you can go to a hobby shop or website for r/c cars and order some "diff balls". Come if various sizes and are hardended.

Glad you messaged, that coulda been bad My axle didn’t come with them either, I couldn’t find decent used ones so I ordered new spacers on partzilla. Should be way more CBR1000 parts out there tho, the RC51 axle was rare.
For the steering stops I cut and filed the stock ones off then drilled holes for bolts like you said. My thread has a description and pics on pg 23 and 30. The first ones I did weren’t quite right so I redid them after everything was powder coated

I know I’m in the minority, having raised my bike rather than lowered it, but I finally found a solution to the too short stock kick stand.
Kickstand from a 1980 CX500 Custom
On the left is the stock stand and on the right is the CX. It’s about 1-1/2” longer and the spring and rubber are identical. It needed a little bit of file work on the mount to widening it just a hair and I cut the little hoop off the side, but other than that it bolts right on. Just going to finish cleaning it up and give it some fresh paint.1975 Cafe Wing

Such a nice looking scooter.
If there is one thing I have learned throughout this process it is this: Check your respirator for spiders before you put it on.

Nice dude! Definitely the right call shaving those things off too! AND a smooth way to add an inch or two!

Really enjoyed this thread!
So happy to see a front fender. I have never gotten used to a bike without a front fender, though many love the look.
Congrats on lots of attention to detail and fine craftmanship!!!
