Got no complaints about that stance! Still sits perfectly level, so guess my calculations were correct

I fixed the photos - not sure why they go in rotated sometimes from my phone but other times they are fine. They aren't THAT stickySugs wrote:Wow, beautiful! Came out looking great. And that is some sticky rubber...

A few pages back I was asking about a stuck bolt in my water pump cover....I had been letting it soak etc but unfortunately I broke the head off luckily I have a gasket kit already, so I managed to get the rest of the bolts out. Turned out it was best case scenario and the threads in the block are A-OK, the bolt got stuck in the tranny cover. Letting it soak with some pb blaster and then should hopefully be able to knock it out. Guess I’ll repaint the cover while I’m at it

Got some fresh paint on the front covers, should be able to get them bolted back on as soon as the paint cures.

I see an original water pump..have you considered changing it while you have it all apart?

Re: *Accident Repairs / Fork Swap* 75 Wing Cafe RestoMod
The engine has fairly low mileage (about 25k), I haven’t had any issues with it before and there is zero play in the bearings...so I think I’m going to leave it as is and hope she’s still got lots of life left in her. Bit of a gamble, but now that I know how to do this and am replacing all the bolts with new stainless Allen heads it should be a much easier process down the road if I have to get back in there to swap it.5speed wrote:I see an original water pump..have you considered changing it while you have it all apart?

Re: *Accident Repairs / Fork Swap* 75 Wing Cafe RestoMod
Take this for what it's worth. I had an 8000 mile engine here. The water pump was nice and tight. Put it all together. Ended up having to pull the pump because it leaked coolant out of the weep hole. If I ever have the trans cover off and see an OEM pump I will replace that pump. No matter how solid it feels.
Very easy to do now. If you do have to do it after it's back together then you have another gasket set to pay for. Loss of at least some coolant. Plus the pain of taking it apart again so soon.

Argh, maybe you guys are right. Minimum that’s an extra week of waiting to get the parts ordered and shipped in tho, which I was really hoping to avoid. Guess I could always put it back together as is and then order a new pump and gasket kit to have on hand for later...gonna have to think about this one over a beerrobin1731 wrote:If I ever have the trans cover off and see an OEM pump I will replace that pump.
