I dunno cyborg I was replying in the form as a question ... Wasn't trying to sway your response in anyway ... As I was looking at the pics in the climers manual it just seems there was no way for it to back out but also don't know how much play there is between the 2 pieces... Any an all help is greatly appreciated ...

I'm not really sure what the real reason for it is. I wondered about it on the first engine I ever took apart. But I do know the sprocket will move in ad out a slight amount, and you can't remove it with out taking the clip off first. Never thought much about it til you mentioned it.

Yeah that's why I was wondering how crucial it was because I know it's sandwiched between the engine casing on both sides .... Also on this bike I'm not using the stator as I have installed an alternator so I was just wondering ...

I haven't been on here in a long time. I recently dusted off my old Wing project and started thinking again after reading your thread from start to finish. NICE BUILD!

Honestly, I am ashamed to say that it has sat for so long under a sheet that I forgot half the stuff I wanted to do. At this point I just want to ride it!

I want to ride it by next year. Being the 40th anniversary an all.

maybe you answered this, but how many gallons is the gas tank? How is it plumbed up? Also, how did you mount the battery?
