Progress is good. Me I played with powder coat clear top coats, with added orange pearl, 3 try's 2-1/2 failures. Yours all look like successes.

Well, Casper, it's the failures that teach caution I guess. For me, I was really freaked ordering spokes today. No room for error! What do you do when you have the flu and are home bound? You calculate your spokes! What a pain in the arm that is. I pulled the trigger and ordered 80 spokes and nipples from Buchanan Wheels today. 10 gauge stainless spokes, .900 stainless nipples. I ran through two different spoke calculators and both eventually gave me the same answers. A serious 3 hour exercise to make certain everything was correct. It did however, give me three hours of reprieve from mourning the Seahawk debacle.

Alright. Finished cleaning the front transmission cover. painted it, and replaced the water pump. I also finished polishing the rear cover and am waiting for a few gaskets to come. Today I am going to reassemble the front cover and install the various small polished covers on the block. Pics to come.

Kicked some backside today. Something about Pink Floyd, and a good nights rest, helped me to get going on this puppy.

In the following pictures you can see the painted block, and polished parts. The color of the block is cast iron. The color of the front cover is a slightly light shade of cast iron.

Pictured on the bench is a polished rear case, a hydraulic clutch conversion cover, an oil cooler adapter, rebuilt heads, and a bunch of polished engine bits. The water pump was replaced in the tranny cover. In the rear cover, I refurbed the pulse generator and vacuum advance unit. This engine has a lot of dirty stuff in the block, so a diesel wash will happen once I get it buttoned up.

The valve and timing belt covers have also been polished and await install along with new gaskets and bolt seals.

The gaskets came in today so I am ready to assemble. Almost completely. I forgot to order an o-ring for the oil sump filter cover. Dang. Postage for that part will be more than the part! I might just scavenge a used one.

I'll also be replacing the shifter seal while the engine is out,as well as swapping out the starter clutch for one I cleaned and reworked.
