Just went through this build due to its BOTY nomination. Not sure how I missed it when it was happening ... but all I can say is WOW! Phenomenal job. Absolutely love it. action1

NunzioGL,
May i ask what are the handle bars from ? are they superbike style, Euro tourning ? I am trying to replace the stock bars on my 77 GL1000.

They are Superbike bars. I think I'm going to switch to a Euro style though. They are too wide for my tastes. I would like more of a CB400 bar.

Sweet i was looking to put Super Bike bars on my 77 GL1000. Did you have to do any mods or they fit fine without hitting the tank side covers ? i love the way they look :-D

Slight modifications. The only issue is that they do not have the holes drilled for the locating pins for the throttle and switch gear. I also had to modify the left control housing for the wires to exit the control by grinding a pretty good notch. Or you could modify the handlebars to have hidden wires.

I agree i was trying to figure that out myself, I might drill the handle bars :) i like the clean look :8) where did you buy your superbike bars from i saw some for sale on ebay for around $25.
