Thank you all for your tips on the front brakes!
So I zip tied my front brake handle and turned the bars to the left so that the master cylinder was at its highest point and let it sit for 3 days. I gave a few taps on the spliter and MC each night.

Well I took the zip tie off last night, and presto, hard lever!!
It worked, thanks so much for the tip!!

Here is a link to the bars I bought off EBay for $20:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/380442948928?it ... 1928wt_994

Since my last post I've installed a LED rear brake light with integrated turn signals, chopped another 2 inches off the rear frame, added bar end mirrors and had the tank and side covers painted Mineral Grey Metallic...

I'll post updated pictures soon!

Nice job. It's great to see that it doesn't have to cost a pile of cash.

I am curious just how difficult it was to mask and paint the frame and engine.

Here are some pics of the rear brake light with integrated turn signals installed.
This is from a Ducati Monster, bought off eBay - (scroll all the way down once you click for info and pics)

Welded up a mount and it tucks really nice under the seat.
Riding two up if rubs a little when you hit a hard dip, so I need to do some modifing...

Well the Wing is basically finished!
I picked up the shelter and side covers from the painter, and for only $350 he did a GREAT job.

This included filling the logo indent on the shelter lid and shooting BMW Mineral Grey Metallic, base plus clear coat (Paint code B39)

I also added CRG Hindsight bar end mirrors since the last update. Way more money than I wanted to spend, but they are really nice quality with ZERO vibration. $115 for the pair including shipping (which sadly is a deal) from Powersport Superstore online.

Here are the pics of the 99% finished project! (all pics are cell phone, maybe I'll shoot better ones at some point)

Heckuva build - I'm impressed.

If you want to swap that extra seat for $100, I'm down. I used to ride a 1200, but after putting 100k on it, it's tired and sitting in my garage ready to get chopped. Now I ride an 1800. Then an 1100 showed up on Craigslist super cheap and I picked it up. They guy did a ton of work stripping it down, painting the motor and the frame. It's got MX bars on it. A real Frankin-bike. But the seat is just some rolled up vinyl that's strapped to the seat pan. There is no tank, so it should fit. Wanna sell it to me?

Your bike is the inspiration for my 1200 build. Super impressive.

Cheers,

Sly
