Just playing with Photoshop here... planning to add a chin scoop / belly pan. I'll just cut it from aluminum or stainless, folded to shape with a DIY sheet metal brake. Should bolt up to the frame with some rubber washers to insulate it... I don't want metal/metal rubbing on the frame. The red HONDA sticker should add an extra 5-10hp

Got the fuel petcock swapped out and all is good now. I need to order some M5 brass nipples so I can balance the carbs. One of my hobbies is RC Airplanes... I notice you can get M5 nipples for the water-cooling jackets on RC boats. 25-cents apiece + S/H gets them to my door in 2 days for $8.29.

Re: Cafe'nated 'Wing
It should be easy enough to make a cardboard pattern, transfer it to aluminum sheet, the cut it out with a jigsaw. The leading edges I'll fold-over about a 1" lip for extra strength and leave some tabs to mount a cross-support and attach the wire mesh rock guard. Bare edges can be sanded with a belt sander, or even covered with automotive door-edge trim.
A half-dozen of these insulated conduit hangers should make it easy to mount onto the frame without marring the paint:

Re: Cafe'nated 'Wing
I was in the garage drinking some of that Geniuss beer and had a brain fart: I bet the little plastic air cut-offs that I use for my aquarium bubblers would screw directly into the vacuum ports of my intake runners if I carefully threaded them in:

Re: Cafe'nated 'Wing
I'll follow up to say that these did seal nicely after I self-threaded them into the vacuum ports. The plastic gets a little soft once the bike warms up, so you'll want to let it cool down again before removing them to keep from twisting them off in the holes. But it worked! Got rid of the low-idle "primary chain slap" and much snappier off the line.

I really like the looks of this bike. That being said, painting it red would add a few more horses also.

Re: Cafe'nated 'Wing
Well I've got it balanced great at 1000rpm... it just purrs. But I'm getting a backfire pop on deceleration now. Timing is dead-on. Valves are adjusted. No air leaks (tested with an unlit propane torch). No exhaust leaks. New plugs... I guess I should take them out and have a look at them.
While I was balancing the carbs with my DIY manometers, I could get them to balance at idle, but as soon as I increased the RPMs or blipped the throttle they would be way out of balance. I wonder if I have a sticking vacuum piston or weak spring.
Back at it this weekend...
