On the bike related front I did score some more cast off parts.
Ok...junk. but there are a few promising pieces.
After reading of others sucess with sporster mufflers,I may give these a try.
If I dont like them I can go back to straight pipes.

Heres a pic of the latest junk.

A little while back I posted that I scored some parts form a friend.
There's nothing spectacular about that. But in conversation my friend told me where he got the parts . With the exception of the back rest he got the parts, while on vacation, from Cresent Moon.
I thought that was a strange twist. Through pure happenstance I own these parts from a former NGW sponser and member

Hello all.
Just another boring post about no progress on a boring build.

I dont know if I will ever reach a turning point towards real progress.
Since my last posts when I was purchasing needed components,
Things changed again.

The transmission in my truck lost its ability to function.
And the car cracked a head.

So the wrenching efforts and cash outlays will be directed there for awhile.
But I fully intend to sneak the bike into the mix.

Please dont take all this as whining. Stuff happens.
And I love reading about y'all's efforts.
Reminds me how much fun wrenching and riding can be.

Until next time
Stay warm and ride often

Many, if not all, of us have been there, or are there. Hoping things turn around for you. You still have the best thread title.
Whatever I suggest here should be given ample time for a moderator to delicately correct. I apologize in advance.

I'm glad you like the title.
I been thinking (I know all the jokes, so hold your tongues) and I think I have a plan to make some progress. I intend to devote a little time everyday to the project. Wether its five min or several hours, I think it will make a difference.
Hopefully it will keep my enthusiasm up, if nothing else.

Randall Washington posted a photo of a bike the he called Richard Petty Blue, also Ferrari Blue. I think it is a good idea to paint a custom bike a custom color.

Lefty
I agree with you.
But I have seen some mild customs that looked good with stock or near stock colors.
With the exception of gloss black, all the color combos
In my color poll are custom to these bikes.

Speaking of which, thanks for voting. Its a tight race right now. Im looking forward to seeing which color y'all ultimately pick for me.

Today I am in texarkana and had a few extra minutes, so I stopped by the local honda shop.
I priced new calipers and parts to rebuild the original ones.
Also master cylinder kits and new clutch discs.
Talk about sticker shock.
See for your self.

For that kinda money I would be looking at buying a used bike, or bikes, that still have good brakes. Over $900 for one front caliper, wow.

Thay was two left front calipers.
It was a young not very good counterman. I didnt notice it was two lefts until later.
Still way past my budget for parts.

Today has been a good day.
Spring has sprung
I found my haynes manual that was hiding from me and a new to me tire arrived in the mail.
Thanks to mike-c.
It is a nos tire. The date code is a little old but im not worried at all. No signs of weathering or wear at all.
How it arrived and a look into the future
