No go on the white walls. You could use a cafe style seat/tail with the fuel in the tail. This guy says he will custom build to spec. for $300. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Aluminum-Cafe- ... 1438.l2649

I thought of a place for the fuel tank. Belly pan style and under sump.

The lowest part of the bike? Right where the front tire will throw things at it? Where it will get heat from the engine and the road and the exhaust?

Ground clearance is already questionable. Especially in corners. The more I read about your build, the more I see a "show" bike, and not a rider. A lot of "form over function". Which is fine, if that is your intention.

Re: Swissitalian 1200 custom bike
My intention is not to carry stuff with me that I dont really need to ride from A to B. Showbike? No. Form over unnessesary? Yes.This bike I will drive only in the dry and only a maximum of 20 miles a day. The lean angle clearance is 45 degrees, enough for my suburb easy ride.

Re: Swissitalian 1200 custom bike
If you aren't worried about not being able to travel to far how about this.
It would give you the stock fill neck location and the stock mounting location but would keep the area between the engine and rear tire open.
The bonus would be the ability to put a comfortable seat on it.

It wouldn't be the first time a custom bike has a tank there.

Re: Swissitalian 1200 custom bike
I love the profile on this setup. But it is already low. The cautions above regarding the belly tank are worth noting. Even sedate suburban riding brings perils to low hanging fruit. (Ask me how I know).
It does seem that 5Speed's suggestion to modify the stock tank has merit. Then again, if you were willing to do some metal fabrication/modification, it wouldn't be too much more work to adapt an early "true" tank to fit over the existing GL frame structure. It has been done. One of the best I've seen was the use of an early CB750 tank. Of course, if your intent is to have that GL frame structure exposed - and even emphasized - then your alternative search continues!
Did you abandon the CO2 tank idea you brought up earlier? I think that thing mounted sideways and painted black would look great and fit the "look and feel" of the project.

Re: Swissitalian 1200 custom bike
Unfortunately, with the law in Switzerland it is not possible to change the framework. The maximum of feelings will be, just to shorten the struts. So far I've only seen a few custom bikes that show the right frame under the fals tank. And then I saw this bike in the net and thought, it should be possible to make it more harmonious.
