New guy

New to Goldwings. Been building bikes since early 70's and riding since 60's. I'm old eh?
Finished an XS650 chopper last July and moving on to a new project. Found a 1975 GL1000 with only 24,000 miles on it. Been sitting since 1988 and I got it for $100 bucks. Stating in on it to see if I can get it to run and we will proceed from there.

Welcome from St Louis. Sitting that long you should first change the belts before trying to start the motor. A broken belt can easily turn the motor into a boat anchor. Congrats on the find and feel free to ask many questions while you progress.

Belts on the very large list of to do’s.
I need a 75 ignition switch but seems like none available. Can other years plug and play?

Parts N More https://www.partsnmore.com/parts/honda/gl1000/?q=Switch. Has a switch for 76/77 years and according to the part numbers from CMSNL.com the 75 model takes the same switch.
