Hello from a new '79 GL1000 owner

Post by NHDualrider »

Hello everyone,

New to the forum and GL1000 ownership. I bought my '79 a couple months ago in non running condition. It had been sitting for four years. Just took it on a 150 mile ride today. The info in this and the other Wing forums has been a huge help. Thanks to all that make it possible.

I had a '79 that was a great around-town ride. Beware that they were a transition bike, and some early '79s had left-over '78 parts. A unique '79 feature is that the cross-member that the center stand pivot is welded to has extra gussets where it attaches to the frame.
