1st time posting, long time following
I joined two years ago when I started my '84 Aspencade rebuild. I had an issue with the front brake caliper needing rebuilt and the wheel bearing was bad. I decided at that time that I wanted to make it naked. I wish I had documented the process, but alas, I didn't. Attached are pictures from last year. This past winter, I pulled the exhaust and am rebuilding it this week. And am planning on syncing the carbs once I get it out back together.

Re: 1st time posting, long time following
Thanks Herald! I had a ton of fun tearing it down to the frame and engine. I made a new wiring harness using the motogadget m-unit, a tank from an 83 GL, and a rear fender from 77 CB750. I cut down the front fender and just recently unlinked the front/rear foot brake and changed the OE exhaust to one I built. Hoping the weather cooperates here in Ohio this weekend...

how do you like the M-unit so far?
buddyof mine did one and I'm seriously considering it on my next 1000 build based upon his appraisal of its functionality.

It was a huge blessing. I was able to simplify the entire wiring harness. I even used the OE handlebar controls without issue. I like the ease of plug'n'play style wiring and the ability to customize lights and signals to what I want. Highly recommend fir anyone building a custom bike
