Introductions

Post by Captain Save a Bike »

Been a few years since I’ve owned a Wing. Funny how time flies. I’ve kept that Corbin Gunfighter saddle from my 78’ for over 15years knowing I’d own another Wing- one with spokes. Truth be told I have all the other stuff I took off it too. Vetter, bags, excess chrome, possibly some tassels. It’s good-and bad-to have a barn. Well, Craigslist signaled me and Duty called. Captain Save a Bike rescued another peach from some ham-fisted kid wanting a bitchin cafe racer. At least that’s how I see it. Others can tell their own stories. This bike has been sitting 20+ and I’m excited to revive its glory for all to enjoy. Thanks to Randakk and all the invaluable resources and knowledge that you guys n gals provide. I’m starting with the belts, thermostat, fluids, brakes.... ha, I’ll stop there. Typing it all out makes it seem like a lot of work. Wink wink. Wish me luck and thanks for having me. My new 77 has 51,000+ and not a signal bug in the radiator. Drilled rotors, fork brace, Shoei FM2? etc. Northern California bike it’s whole life. Please message me if one of you old timers has seen it before. The

Just lost a lengthy welcome message. I must be cracking up. Anyway, you weren’t kidding when you said that was a peach. I kind of like that Shoei. If I acquired one on a bike, I would be sorely tempted to run it.

I couldn’t help tuning in given the hilarity of your handle. And your gift of gab. Many of the folks here freely dispense from deep pools of experience and knowledge. Others (like me) just gab. Not that there’s anything wrong with that! Indeed, you will fit right in.

And think I spy a ZREX tank on the shelf back there. A man after my own heart!

Thanks for your replies and advice. That’s why I joined a GANG of like minded hooligans trying to save time wrenching. So.. I’ll look around before I ask a redundant question. But but?.. never mind. And that tank is from 1982. Good eye.
