New gl1200 owner

Just bought an 87 aspy with bodywork damage and in process of getting nkd ,I've a few questions regarding brakes and suspension ,would I be at the place lol

From the Highlands of Scotland where bike parts are as rare as Haggis ,had money for a summer bike so bought this and teared it down,I can't just buy a bike on the road, anyway stripped of all the rubbish and now need to replace perishables and hope for a four week build lol forks ,brakes clocks,lights belts and tyres ,,,,,,will be picking your heeds lol

Welcome to the club from Cambridgeshire, a warm and dryer area than you're used to. Saying that if we were in the States we'd probably be considered as neighbours!!

Can be hard to get spares but the postal service is good, I've bought parts from all over the world, but a good starting point is David Silver. If you have any problems there, then there are plenty of other sites to try.

Good luck with your project and post some pics when you can.

Thanks everyone projects going well apart from choice of exhaust , everything past the down pipes is being ditched,that sucker is about 10kg ,gonna do some research on common budget choices otherwise it's a DIY jobby, hard to believe I've taken 94kg of so far,maybe 10kg going back on , bike feels light now lol
