Hello for Charleston SC!

Post by ob1quixote »

Not a stranger to bikes or Goldwings, but a new guy here!

My father had a 1975 GW, 2nd in town. He let me ride it as soon as I was legal.
Bait taken!

After many years without a streetbike, I got the itch and scratched it!
1979 GW with 31K on the odometer! Absolutely new rear tire, but the front was as bad as I have ever seen...
DOT date code 279...

Runs like a champ, done all the service that you need to do to make a 40 year old bike reliable.

Anyways, the revival is almost done, just waiting on the upholstery shop to finish the seat!

After further exploration of the site, I must give a huge 'thank you!' to everyone who contributed to the Shop Talk section!
What a great store of info! Preparing to take on a Dyna electronic ignition install, and there it is, all laid out for me!

Who knows, maybe something I write up could get there some day...!
