introducing myself

#1

Post by Kris Carr »

Hello, Im Kris. I am a 36 year old autobody technician. My dad was a motorcycle mechanic for 25 years and sadly died in August from cancer. I inherited his bike. A suski GS 1000. Then I build myself a 500 honda shadow so I could get my motorcycle license. Then very recently I was given a 1983 Gl1100. I decided i want to build something Wild out of this one. Im thinking mono shock, inverted forks, clip on bars, and if I can figure it out, a turbo off my junked Audi.
I consider myself a man who can build anything but Im new to bikes. I built my career on custom cars and hot rods. Im here to share the benifit of your combined experience and knowledge. As well as to bounce ideas around. I smoke a fair amount of weed some of my ideas are a little out there.
Anyway I look forward to talking with you folks as I build this thing.

Welcome! There are lots of ideas that are "out there" around here. From all sorts of influences. Inspiration comes from everywhere. Lay it on us.

Welcome to the club from the UK. Sorry for your loss.
Be interesting to see what you come up with, even with the help of some exotic herbs! First job is to change the belts!

Welcome Kris. Sorry for your loss.
I could not do herb while working on my bike.
I would likely forget all kinds of critical operations. Then again if you knew my history you might say what's the difference?
Good luck. I'm interested in seeing what you come up with.

Thanks Track, the Shadow took me about 3 weeks start to finish but the bike sat in my garage for 4 years before i started on it. I got it done enough to ride the day before my very first toy run
