My first Goldwing

#1

Post by chunk »

Hi all, as the title implies, I'll be picking up my first Goldwing (1981 gl1100 Interstate) next week. Been on two wheels for 40 years or so and have owned 40-50 bikes over the years, but never a Goldwing. Probably the closest bike to it, apart from the motor, was an 1982 Suzuki gs1100gk. I did have a ST1100, recently sold it, a very nice road bike as well, but being a bmw "airhead" guy, i have a soft spot for boxer style motors. Currently i have a '95 bmw r100r Mystic and a ' 77 Yamaha XT 500. I'm looking to replace the running boards currently installed for the oem footrests if anyone has a pair. I have a want ad in that section of this site. Cheers, Scott.

Welcome from St Louis. Try locating some stock pegs from a 1200. They are wider and fit the instep of your boot. A small boost in rider comfort.

Welcome Scott. This is a great forum.
I've only had three bikes thus far. But then again I got a late start.
