New to Club

#1

Post by oldguy64 »

Hello from BC Canada. Just bought my first Goldwing in a box. Have had many bikes over the years but came across a 78 in many pieces. The previous owner took it apart in 06 intending on painting it and never did. So I am now the new owner. My plan is to go back together as new with original colour scheme (blue) and as original as I can get. I am looking for a service manual for this bike if anyone is able to point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.
I will probably be picking some brains along the way.

welcome. If you cannot find a Haynes or Clymer manual new, I am sure you can find one on ebay. You might start a thread on the "restoration forum". You will find there is a lot of experience on this forum.... and we love pictures!

Thanks for the nice welcomes everyone and the tips on finding a manual. Many bikes over the years and always looking for a new project. I have the greatest wife on the planet "I don't care how many bikes you have as long as my van can still fit in the garage..." So I typically have 3 or 4 on the go at any one time.
Currently: daily rider is 2001 Yamaha FZ1, also, 1990 Kawasaki ZX11, and my café bike project is a 1985 Yamaha XJ750Maxim X.
Really looking forward to getting the "Wing" on the road
