Hello, I finally joined your club. I have been considering to join you for awhile. This winter I bought a 1982 GL 1100 standard goldwing (without trying it out first) as the snow in northeastern wisconsin was already on the streets. But it runs great and the compression was at/over 170#. Well this bike must have sat awhile as the brakes were junk,so I rebuilt all the calipers including the pistons, seals, and pads I have yet to bleed them. This bike came with the vetter windjammer fairing on it which I removed only to find out the blinker ear studs (the flat ones) were cut off. So I dont know if I am doing this in the right spot or do I ask for help in a tech. forum anyways my first question is how or where do I get replacement front blinker and complete headlight bucket assembly as the vetter one will not work. It looks like when the head light ear brackets are straight the measurement between the two ears is 7 7/8 inches most of the Ebay ones are 6 1/4 inches. Anybody know where to find this stuff. I would like to use the round or oval blinkers I think they look better. Many thanks, wiff

Welcome to the forum. You will get a lot more info after the weekend is over. Several of the regulars are at a rally. Persistence is the key to finding the parts you are looking for. Give Dave at Cyclecycho a call, he may have them. Also, change the belts.

Welcome from southern Wisconsin! Finding the stock headlight ears and bucket can be time consuming. They do come up on eBay, and prices vary widely. If you're contemplating non - stock turn signals, there are lots of aftermarket headlight mounts, buckets and signals available.
Enjoy the ride!

Welcome to the club. As for the headlight bucket. I do not recommend buying the "New" one, with headlight, from ebay. I did and it was a piece of junk. Find an old complete stock bucket for a GL. Complete: Bucket, ring, and headlight.

The best place to look for what you need is eBay. The headlight bucket is common to many honda models like GL1000, GL1100, GL500 various CB models. The one you need will have HM-27-MS stamped on it. The headlight ears with the flat bar type indicator support you will find harder to get but they are out there.

Re: New member
the ears change from the from the 75-77 to the 78-79, so make sure if you buy any that they are for your model
