New guy

Post by 26industries »

hello everyone, I'm really enjoying all of the good information I am finding here on this site. I just bought my first GoldWing last week and this forum has been a treasure trove of much needed information to troubleshoot and work the kinks out of my bike. No pictures right now but I was searching for a cheap Venture ( was planning on robbing parts for my Vmax.) but found a 1976 GL1000 and went for it instead. Kinda glad I did.

I keep seeing all of this talk about "starting with timing belts".... so should I adjust my valves first?

Yea, haha, I've been reading a lot of different topics lately and I am always amazed at how often the resident experts have to repeat themselves over and over and over again. It's the same way on VMax forums with people having charging system issues.

Before you start on the belts you're going to loosen the valve adjusters .... so, yes you will be re-adjusting the valves afterwards ....
