New member from Denmark

Post by Vestjyden »

Hello everyone

I'm a young lad from Denmark and new to the forum. I got myself a 1980 GL1100 a couple of years ago. It had been in a barn for some years when I got it.
How it looked when I got it home:

Didn't think i was quite ready for a full dresser yet, so I turned it into a naked:

Got it running by cleaning the carbs, new belts, changed oil and filter and replaced the coils (had a crack in one of them).
I plan on rebuilding the bike with some fresh paint at some point. Also going to refit the side bags, as they're nice to have. Currently working on building the rear lights into the bags.

Well I'm 25, so I consider myself younger than the average Goldwing rider ;)

I started out on a CB350F when I was 21. Nice bike, but a bit to small. I then got a Suzuki SV650 as a temporary ride. I knew this Goldwing was in a barn locally, so I just waited for the owner to get ready to part with it. Bought the Goldwing and had it in storage for a year and got it running a year ago.

Glad to see I'm not the only new babyface on the block. I've been wondering what those seats look like on the bike and I must say it looks great. Nice choice of the diamond stitch over the lateral lines.
