Well I figured I may as well join up and introducing myself as I just picked up an 1983 standard that's in very nice condition, and a 85 that's been sitting around for about a decade. I just started digging into the 85 and am pretty excited to bring her back to her former glory. So anyways I'm from northeast PA bonifide bike nut, sadly our riding season is about toast here, but hopefully by by spring I'll have a couple new toys for the road!

Thanks! Glad to hear it, from what I can tell so far there is definite a wealth of information here. I think the 85 interstate came from Rhode Island someone really liked it at one time or just felt compelled to buy virtually everything they could for it including some snazzy hand painted striping. 83 was one owner until spring then gone over by a fella who works at a dealership. It's 100% stock as it sits so it's going to stay that way.

Definitely two different bikes to enjoy and ride. The 83 is lighter and more nimble and fun and the 85 is awesome when the weather turns cool or when traveling some distance. Great combination to have. Welcome to the Wingdome
