1982 Goldwing Trike
Hi All and thanks for the ad.
I just aquired a project, a 1983 GL1100 Trike, now the fun begins. Got it from a auction so no title yet but am going to work on that first before I put money into it and can not ride. I am a old goat and disabled but have had several bikes in my past.
1965 Allstate Scooter
1966 305 Honda Dream
1968 BMW R50/5 Fully Dressed for the time
1999 KZ1000 Police Bike Dressed from police dept.
2007 Honda Shadow
Now the trike for my disabilities should work fine for me I hope.
I need a right saddle bag lid and the latches for all 4 bags and the lip they catch I don;t have keys for the bags or the trunk or the 2 helmet locks either. Also don't have keys for ignition or gas tank so as you can see I am in a pickle with the key situation. If anybody has any recommendations for getting the keys at a reasonable price would be great, as it looks like a bear to take the ignition switch out, I need to get a repair manuel for it that's for sure. Well I flapped my lips long enough here, hope to find out some valuable info. from all the members on this form.

Re: 1982 Goldwing Trike
Welcome, It may be a job to remove the ignition cylinder, but once you can get the code from it
order keys from here viewtopic.php?f=6&t=54004.
I have used him, very resonable and a LOT easier than re-keying everthing.

Welcome from Wisconsin! +1 on the key codes, assuming they're all the same... There's a really good thread in ShopTalk for new Wing owners. Just click the link in my signature. Enjoy the ride!

Re: 1982 Goldwing Trike
Well just wanted you to know I used the guy on here to make me keys from code found on gas tank hatch cover, much easier than trying to remove ignition switch at first. The code worked great got keys I ordered them on 11/23 and got them on 11/27 talk about fast service it was great thanks for recommending him I will sure use him again.Bike needs new battery (one from mower would not do it) it did turn over very slowly, just trying to make sure not frozen up, did not try to start it yet, got to clean out tank and put new filters on first. What is the best way to clean out tank? I really don't know where tank is? Under the hatch cover is the gas cap but can't see much else, so can any one tell me the best way to clean tank out? I don't see any gas in it but can smell gas fumes.Oldwingguy wrote:Welcome, It may be a job to remove the ignition cylinder, but once you can get the code from it

Hi All
Question, I have a 1982 GL 1100 trike but it still has the rear tire so its a 4 wheel bike, do all trike kits keep the rear drive wheel in place? Also what is the best way to clean out gas tank? can't find tank where is it?

Can't find the fuel tank? A few questions. Can you find where the fuel goes in? follow that point to where the Fuel goes. Look at the carbs. The line where the fuel enters the carbs,....,follow it back til you get to the tank

Re: 1982 Goldwing Trike
There are genuine trike's and there are Motorcycle with added side wheels as you have. I have only ridden the trike version. Very different technique needed. Start slowly and gain experience.

I've ridden several "real" trikes. They all rode nice if they had the easy steer on them. I've ridden two different bikes with training wheels. (That's what I call the one's with outriggers) They were terrible to ride. If you need more than 2 wheels get a real trike. You'll be happy.
