Hello from Chicago

#1

Post by freedom »

Hi all,

I just bought an '82 Goldwing Aspencade this past weekend. He was asking for $750, I offered $500, bought it for $550.

It has a little over 44,000 miles on it, the bike has been sitting for the better part of this year so the battery needs charging, visually it looks to be in good condition - plastics look good (ish) but I plan to strip it, paint is a little meh, maybe a little bit of rust here and there but nothing major, the tires and wheels look good too, the suspension system works, the starter is dead but I plan on rebuilding it. I will post some pictures soon.

And yes I will change the timing belts. :-D

My current daily ride is a Moto Guzzi V7.

Welcome from Wisconsin. Sounds like a good buy! If it sat for only a year, it shouldn't
( hopefully) need to much to get back on the road. Enjoy the ride!

Thanks. People selling bikes tend to exaggerate a little so I would say it probably sat is his garage (or outside the garage) for a couple years. I guess I have all winter to get the bike running.

It probably was on CL but I saw it on 5miles (pretty neat app), and the seller was in NW Indiana.
