New from Lebanon Indiana

#1

Post by wpeycha »

Hey all,

Walt from Lebanon. Have had my 1976 GL1000 for just under a year and I believe it will be ready to roll in a bit. I have a friend who is in LOVE with the GL1000/1100 and talked me into a bike he said would get me places. He didn't realize I was a bit particular and it has been down as I have been going through Randakk's checklist and learning how to get it running like a champ.

So far, I've (not is Randakk's order!):
  • Got the wing bug bad
  • Replaced the seat cover
  • Replaced the points and condenser
  • Replaced the plugs
  • Replaced the timing belts
  • Rebuilt the timing belt tensioners
  • Replaced the oil screen screws w/shorter cap screws
  • Replaced the water pump
  • Got new(replacement) keys
  • derusted most of the chrome
  • Replac(ing) exhaust
I have a ton more to do, but think I will have her road worthy so I can get my regular motorcycle license.
