GL1100 from Down Under.

#1

Post by WingnutGL »

Hey All. :-D

A few years ago I "acquired" an '82 GL1100 Standard, as a last minute addition to the purchase of another Wing-based 'special'.

In the process of getting really "nekkid"

Came from Michigan (sticker on fork leg). 68k miles.
Looked very presentable when it arrived, BUT the difference between then and now, under the surface ... ... OMG. lolol
Nothing terrible - just all age-related stuff: hardened seals, corrosion ... umm ... hardened seals, corrosion ... umm ...
On a first-name basis with every air jet. LOL. And rear shock seal. And starter motor brush ... and ... and ...

Was v.impressed with the engineering of the first Wing in 1976, but this is the first Wing I've ridden. Wow!

Anyway, this will do for a start. Have quite a story to tell. :-)

Hey Cliff, and thanks for the welcome. :-)

"Antipote" (an-tip-o-tey) is the word. Eg - Britian and New Zealand are on an antipote.

As for New York ... oh I don't know ... South Pole ???

Yep - will definitely tell 'that' story.
