Second time around.....

#1

Post by TBM »

I thought I'd say hello again....

Was reasonably active some while ago but then the engine gave way in a rather impressive style.Bought a replacement engine that turned out to be seized with a badly rusted bore. Although I got her moving and cleaned the bore, I lost my mojo and the poor girl has been a front garden ornament for the last five years....

However, in the last month or so I've managed to get myself a couple of bargains on ebay. As a result I'm pretty sure I've got enough to get the old girl back on the road AND build myself another early GL1000 to boot! My SWMBO is not too happy, and that brings the total number of bikes to 8.....

I'm pretty sure I'm going to be needing some small bits and bobs, so will put up some wanted ads as I'm going on to try and take some spares off your hands! :)

Welcome back! I can relate to the 'SWMBO' issue. "It just followed me home," and "It looked so lonely and forlorn, I had to rescue it," only seem to work so many times. I think I'll have to try "I know I can turn around and sell it for..." the next time, lol!

I often get the 'why do you need so many bikes when you can only ride one at a time', however my stock retort is always 'Same reason you have so many pairs of shoes when you can only wear one pair at a time'..........
