I just wanted to take a minute to say HI, and introduce myself. I am a long time Motorcyclist and new to the NGW Forum. I live on the Central Coast of California and have for about seven years. I have been an enthusiast since I was little and never really far from two wheeled motorsports since.
I inherited my GL from my uncle when I told him of my desire to build custom bikes. He had this GL in his garage for years but hadn't ridden it because of a bad left ankle and he couldn't shift. It had been very well taken care of and only had 40,000 miles on the clock. So, I flew up to Oregon and rode it home with the understanding that I would follow my dream and build a custom out of it. That was three years ago. I can hear the screams of blasphemy as I write these words, but a promise is a promise.
I finally stripped the girl down to her undies just before Christmas and now she is ready to go under the knife. I will do my best to document the reconstructive surgery as it proceeds and hopefully provide some entertaining if not informative content to the forum. I have created a listing for all the take off parts on my Google+ page and will update my blog with the progress as well.
Wish me luck and Cheers to all,
Tim

Re: 1984 GL1200 Standard
Hello and welcome from the great white Canadian north at this time of the year. I too would be interested in seeing what your direction is on the standard bike, since I own the very same model.
If you are parting some of the stock pieces I just sent you a PM on a specific part I need for my GL 1200 Standard that you may have have available.
