source for a swing arm bolt..

#1

Post by 5speed »

Friend is working on a 2005 vulcan 500. we thought the swing arm bearings were bad and when he pulled the cap off to remove the bolt, the nut and about half an inch of thread fell out.
Found a parts bike and same thing..the bolt snapped right at the nut.
I thought it shouldn't be to hard to find a source for a new bolt..lol
There are used ones on e-bay but we would be buying what we have now.
The bolt is 9/16 in diameter and needs to be 12" long.
I've been searching online and none of the big name bolt suppliers have anything that size.
Anyone have a source for something like this that doesn't require you buyng them in bulk.
Kawasaki discontinued the bolt...wonder why..
