on the auction site Catawiki they present a GL 1000 from 1975 as a pre-production example, chassis number 1012605, engine number 1000034, in your opinion it is possible or it is just one of the first examples of normal production?
I know that the pre-productions had a smooth oil filter cover, without the fins, the Gold wing writing behind the saddle and other differences that I am not going to list because you certainly know them better than me.

Re: Honda GL 1000 Pre-production
Would need to know date of production, but that seems like a pre-production engine in normal production frame. My '75 project is GL1-1007927 with an engine number close to that. Here is a picture of a REAL pre-production GL1000 - serial #02! (On the right in sulfur yellow) Many differences - the sides of the shelter released by push-button. Carbs were very different.

Re: Honda GL 1000 Pre-production
I agree with the above. Pistol Pete thought my 75 was the first Goldwing sold to the public. It is cool that the engine you mention is #34 but the frame number doesn't seem right in my opinion. The frame and engine should be a lot closer to the same, which is the case with mine. It would be interesting to know the # on the rear drive.

Re: Honda GL 1000 Pre-production
The only thing I noticed (if I was looking at the right listing) is that the chrome carburetor stays/brackets match the ones I saw on bike #02. The decorative bits towards the rear with the slots were missing on both, and the bracket is much more basic.
Beyond that? Frame is definitely production, and LOTS of added chrome on the engine. Way I see it, value could go either way.
