Need some clarification...Are you looking for somebody to try to discourage you from getting another motorcycle? Or somebody to help load them up?

Let’s just say I have enough in the garage now that I have to sometimes count twice to get it right.

I went through my list, and I have 17. 11 are runners, the rest are projects. I am working on increasing the runners count while reducing the projects. Pretty much every runner I have was a project to some degree. There are a few that I regret buying, these are 1200 Interstates and Aspencades which were adorned with all kinds of chrome rubbish and fairy lights. I cant see myself fixing them up, will probably just sell them off. I have another 5 machines stored for friends.
Do I think I have too many? No. Do other people think I have too many? Maybe.

around here, the 4 cylinder project wings are getting very hard to find. as a result, i end up taking on other project bikes that i sometimes regret buying. don't get me wrong ... it's cool to massage ANY bike back to life after it has been sitting 10 years but ... they ain't goldwings, dammit !

Please don't crucify me for pointing this out, but I feel compelled.

I wouldn't have been on this board for 9 years if I didn't feel that the 4 cylinder Goldwing is a fabulously engineered piece of machinery. My opinion on that will never change, and I will have one in the garage as long as I am able to hold it up.

But I do not see myself ever accumulating them en masse. While I am not in this hobby for the money, I intensely dislike pouring a ton of cash into a project only to have it be worth maybe half what I have into it.

They made a ton of these things, they were bought by people who loved them and cared for them, and tens of thousands survived. The value just isn't there. Darn shame really.

I have six-ish GoldWings... three run but only two are ridable. I'm with desertrefugee as he mentioned above, I fell in love with these amazingly engineered pieces of art back in '93 when I got my first one, a '79.

SWMBO finally made me agree to an arrangement... I'm not allowed to get another one until I get rid of one of these.
yeah, I've surreptitiously fudged around this. couple of times.

I know a guy, most of you know him ;) , who shall remain nameless who has nine...? but not all are 'Wings.

As long as you have the room for 'em, four is not too many.
sorta bulldogged custom 1978 GL1000 - "geekster"
full Vetter dress 1979 GL1000 - "Barge" (currently down)
1986 1200 Aspencade - "Heart of Gold" - daily rider
1990 1500 Aspencade - It's ALIVE! but very, very naked. not in a good way.
1978 for $100 - project in worx
1978 from a previous member here - taking up space
my original '79 bought in '91 - replacing engine (eventually, maybe someday)

Hi Liam, are you okay? why the 1200s, instead of selling them off, don't you strip them of all the accessories, all the chrome parts and the lights they have and you enjoy them the way Mama Honda made them? they are great motorcycles!
