Evidently 7. This time of year is a little depressing, when I think about my 6 motorcycles in my stuffed garage. You see it’s not insulated and only heated with a little portable electric heater. Only 3 run anyway.
Plus I have one outside under two tarps and a foot of snow. For a total of 7. But I did get the carbs off my 75 sent out and just got them back. Yes 1 car and 6 bikes in a one car unattached garage is all I need for right now. As I search craigslist for the pristine $100 naked goldwing.

I hope I never have to find out...I have three now, and I will admit to saving for a fourth. I tell myself that four is enough. Of course, I said "three is enough" when I had two and was saving for number three. :IDTS:

Just bought my brother's 2009 Honda R1300 w low miles.
The only details I have on it is the miles are low? Jim "thinks" he'll never ride again as he is still at a low point after his open heart surgery. He's feeling very weak as anyone would (I was thinking the same way after they split me open). So, I'm going to keep it available for the day he's back on his feet. He hasn't even had rehab yet cause he's still on antibiotics. He doesn't believe he's coming back. He does not know that I intend to sell it back to him in a couple of months when he starts wishing he still had it.
Oh yeah it's a pretty metallic blue.
So, for now itl go in the western stalls with my other ponies.
I was wise to buy three mounts for my GPS when I bought my Garmin.
Funny how things work out. The lord has mysterious ways.

I didn't know what a Honda R1300 was, so I had to google it.

Only joking of course in my last post. I am assuming it is a VTX 1300 R.

That is a noble thing you are doing for your brother. You're a good man.

Thanks Liam I love him and proud of him. I dont have pics because it's way down in Brownsville Texas 600 miles away. Hes recovering in Dallas.
Let's just say its complicated right now.
I'm booked till the middle of March so i will have to control my urge to go right out and get it. Yes it is a VTX1300R.
My brother is still a bit mixed up and just heard him call it an R1300.

I'll be sending pics out when i finally go and fetch it.

How many's too many? One in the case of a GL1000. I've about had it messing with this thing. After years of fixing, adjusting, swearing, painting, wiring, adjusting carbs, rebuilding carbs, adjusting carbs, rebuilding carbs, adjusting carbs, rebuilding carbs, adjusting carbs, rebuilding carbs and having the thing run well and then....again...start running like junk, I'm about to just set the bugger on fire and buy a new CB1100.

Woo  Why don't y super reliableou tell us how you really feel.   I have a 78 1000 with roughly half a million miles on it. Got it almost new. After a few hundred miles I got rid of the points system....Changed the front end...changed the exhaust...etc..etc. In stock form it was a lot of trouble to keep running. So I get it. But every problem I had with it, I up graded. And now I would take it anywhere. Sometimes it takes a little work to make it the best it can be. It's not a lot of trouble....it's a challenge

I felt that way with my SEi. Loved it but seemed to require constant attention. So I bought a new '06 GL1800. The maintenance was so little that I started "rescuing" GL1000s to keep busy when not riding the 1800.

Guess I haven’t hit that number yet. Since this thread was started, I added number seven… My third Vmax, this one an 86. Although it was a one owner machine, it turns out to be more demanding than I expected. Well preserved, but laying up for 10 years and very needy.

Dear Tibranth, I am very sorry for your choice to abandon a GL 1000, but I believe that your problems are mainly due to a poor mechanic, because although mechanically I do not understand it and I am the last one I should talk about, I have always seen , read and heard that the "problems" of the GL, are solvable and sometimes very easily. They are very, very reliable and requiring little care motorcycles, My husband had a GL 1000 with which he traveled 408,000 km before a drunk Albanian at 9 in the morning, without a residence permit, without a license and without insurance, violently buffered him while he was stopped at a traffic light, destroying the motorcycle forever! the motorbike has always gone very well without ever having any problem except the breaking of the cardan shaft at 318,000 km. We also have a GL 1200 with 355,000 km and it works wonderfully. Find a good mechanic and don't abandon that beautiful motorcycle!
