Wayne Rainey Rides Again

#1

Post by Chris in TN »

My son showed me this video this evening and I was so impressed that I thought I'd share it here. The video shows 3 time 500cc World Champ Wayne Rainey riding a motorcycle again thanks to his friends at Yamaha.

Yeah...I thought that sounded pretty improbable too....

Here's the video and I hope you find it as heart warming as I did.

That was great to see his smile and the fact he wasn't a left behind ex racer. That Yamaha stepped up to offer the opportunity and that Suzuki wants him in Japan to still be involved is awesome.

That is pretty darn awesome he can ride again. Made me wonder if he would consider riding more now. Seems to me I saw some retractable “training wheels”, and being how they were marketed, I thought it wasn’t right, but for him, they would be a great thing.

Awesome! Broke my back in 2 places back in 1992 when my 5 day old Honda Nighthawk 750 decapitated a whitetail deer. By the grace of God I managed to avoid a wheelchair. A few years back the bone spur playing with my sciatic nerve caused me to drop my 78 Wing and my 1100 Shadow in my backyard. It was time to walk away while I could still walk. I do miss it.
