Might be OK for a show bike that will never have the tank filled or be out in the weather but I'd want to see what it looks like after sitting in a parking lot every day for a couple of months in rain & sun and having fuel spilled on it a few times before I considered anything like that.

That has to be in India (used to be called Hero Honda before Honda got out of building there). I think that unless there is gas getting under around the filler, it would be very robust, and something you could remove and replace if needed.

I've dealt with vehicle wraps for a bit, and if nothing else this will keep the paint looking fantastic. Rust may still get in around the edges and it doesn't like that one bit, but that's as likely as rust starting on a normal paint job.

Vinyl longevity is about a year in direct sunlight, maybe three if garage kept. After that it will start to crack and need to be replaced. The upside is that the paint underneath will still be factory fresh.

That being said the vehicle wraps I did were a printed vinyl with a clear lamination over them (one piece). I never dealt with JUST the clear, so I have no clue how long that lasts, how soon it yellows (if at all, etc).

So if this is "good" or not? I'm torn. Generally, paint lasts longer than vinyl, vinyl lets you get crazier graphics jobs, and both cost about the same to get done.

And if you do it yourself, compound curves with vinyl is a ******* to do. FYI.

I was thinking about fluids (gas, rainwater &c) lifting the edges and creeping under it.and then drawing dust & grime in too.

It was pretty obvious that the installer in the video has had slime previous experience... I didn't like the fact that the vinyl was cut out around the emblems. Seems like a weak spot to me. It also looks pretty wavy/ orange peel-ish, but that could be the paint underneath, I suppose...

Our 3m clear covering on hood of new car we had put on two years ago still looks perfect. Don’t know if same stuff. Would protect, but I’m sure it has it’s problems.
