Hazard flasher switch on 1984 gL 1200 Aspy--Where is it?
Somehow, the hazard switch on the Aspy got activated, and I cannot find it to shut it off. I have searched all over, but cannot find a picture of that switch. Makes me feel not too smart, but oh well....

Re: Hazard flasher switch on 1984 gL 1200 Aspy--Where is it?
Well, if you're asking where the switch is that you use to turn the hazard flashers on and off, that switch is on the left handlebar instrument cluster. The hazard switch is usually right next to the headlight low-high switch. On my '87 it's to the right of the low-high headlight switch. I think that on your '84 it's above the low--high headlight switch.
If you're asking where the flasher control unit itself is located, it's under the seat. it's a black plastic module about 1" x 1" x 2". The turn signal control unit is also under the seat and looks pretty much the same as the flasher unit. You can figure out which is which by putting your fingers on them when you are activating the turn signals or flashers and feel which one is clicking.
Hope that helps.

Well, it is the switch and not the relay. However, the only switches on the pod with the hi-lo switch have to do with the radio.
So if I cannot find the thing, at least I may be able to locate the 4-way flasher unit and disconnect it.. Thanks for the quick response!!

Stock flasher sw on an 84, is near the high low beam headlight switch, but on the front side of the sw housing. Slides forward and back

yes, it is on the part with the hi/low and horn. if I recall it is more of a button than a switch

the first time I accidently set the hazards off on my HD... I had a heck of a time figuring out how to get them to stop

Re: Hazard flasher switch on 1984 gL 1200 Aspy--Where is it?
When I wrecked my 84 Standard, the only replacement left switches were one with the hazard switch on them.
The upside? I probably have one of the only 1200 Standard Wings with hazard flashers.

The picture shown is what I have, and the switch slides to the center of the bike to activate the flashers. My switch still has the orange paint on it clearly showing the arrow and hazard flash symbol making it much easier to see.Lucien Harpress wrote:When I wrecked my 84 Standard, the only replacement left switches were one with the hazard switch on them.
