electrical connection cleaning

Recently one of a members stated he cleaned electrical connectors by placing them over night in a baggy full of ....

Does anyone recall what the baggy was full of?

I use CLR. Calcium/Lime/Rust. Sold at Walmart or most any grocery store. Used to clean bathtubs.
